Further investigation revealed that our beautiful squirrels had chewed through the fuel line-$400 repair. Still love them and feed them though... |

| Comments: | I recently rescued and rehabilitated 2 baby squirrels and released them at 18 weeks. They live in my neighborhood (mostly in my backyard) and I feed them as well as the other squirrel population. I was so impressed with their intelligence and loving nature. They still listen to my voice and try to chatter with me from the safety of a tree branch although they do not want to be pets. I am considering becomming licensed to be a real rehabilitator. Thanks for your wonderful photographs. |

I have trained them to come on voice command of "Wake up dog-e-dog" and sit up for a peanut I call a dog biscuit...... The mouths of the tourists drop open as they watch them run to me from as far as 100yds away.... I explain that they aren't squirrels but tree dogs native to St. Pete.... and the smiles and requests for dog biscuits never stops.... |

How many photos (digital?) do you have to take to get a good shot? What do you use to coax them or is that a secret? They are all alive, correct? We feed peanuts out of hand to the raccoons and it helps to start them when they are young. Have you published them in a print form? | Comments: | Love your pictures. Seven squirrels (some gray, some red fox)frequent my back yard. They live in the miniscule woods behind my property and in the owl house I put up in a tree bordering my yard. The main attraction is my bird feeders. I can teach them to stay off the feeders but it's more work for me than I have time for. Several years ago I found a magazine that pictured a jungle gym for squirrels but I misplaced it. I thought that, if I can't get them to stay off the feeders, I could at least construct something to make their quest more interesting for them and me. Have you ever seen anything like that? I still can't find that magazine. Thanks for your pictures. |
